Arboviral infection: This mosquito borne disease may produce seizures, coma, paralysis and permanent brain damage in severe cases. Lac encephalitis presents as a summertime illness with fever, headache, nausea, vomiting and lethargy. Severe disease is in children under 16, with seizures, coma, paralysis, and neurologic abnormalities which may remain through life, but otherwise once recovery occurs no new damages.
