Check with surgeon: Depends on what surgery you had. Short course of toradol for some patients depending on medical conditions. Others could be ultram, stadol, or use Motrin or ibuprofen. Tylenol (acetaminophen) if minor surgery.

Try: Acetaminophen or nsaids like ibuprofen. If those aren't enough, you may want to consider temporarily adding a narcotic to speed your recovery.

Non-narcotic meds: The strength of pain medications depends on the magnitude of the surgery that you'll be undergoing. Common non-narcotic meds include nsaid's (such as Motrin or aleve), ketorolac or tramadol...To name a few. Ask your surgeon beforehand.
