Why do i need to take off everything for surgery?

Depends upon surgery: Presume you mean surgery under general anesthesia. Anesthesiologist needs everything off above the waist for unimpaired use of stethoscope to listen to heart & lungs. Should not need underpants off unless having laparoscopic, groin, thigh, gynecologic or urologic surgery. All these procedures require wide skin prep for skin sterilization.Cerainly don.T need underpants off for hand or foot surgery.
