Need education: You are confusing some things. Addiction is a behavior that can result in a destructive lifestyle. Addiction will result in craving the medications and overuse of medications despite prescription guidelines and physician recommendations. Taking a medication everyday for a medical condition in not an addiction. It does matter if addiction sets in. This will ultimately end up with a bad ending.
