Yes!: Typically no doctor wants to supply medications to an addict. There may be several options in terms of pain management using less addictive drugs. Talk to your pain specialist and ask them how to go about doing this.

Need education: You are confusing some things. Addiction is a behavior that can result in a destructive lifestyle. Addiction will result in craving the medications and overuse of medications despite prescription guidelines and physician recommendations. Taking a medication everyday for a medical condition in not an addiction. It does matter if addiction sets in. This will ultimately end up with a bad ending.
