Many.: Keep a schedule. Get up early, exercise in am. Avoid stimulants after 5 pm. Avoid alcohol completely. Avoid exciting activities and food just before bedtime. Use bed only for sleeping and sex. Do not read or watch tv in bed. If you do not fall asleep right away get up and do something else. Try relaxation techniques. If all fails consider valerian root or melatonin before seeing physician.

Aromatherapy: Dr. Fisher provided excellent information about improving sleep. I will just add some information about aromatherapy. Aromatherapy can help to promote deeper sleep and to increase sleep time. Lavender, chamomile & ylang-ylang essential oils are beneficial.
