Talk to your doctor: There are many reasons for an elevated SGOT and some resolve and others need treatment. Talk your doctor to get the diagnosis and then you will have a better idea what you need to do to treat it. Too many causes to list here.

Agree with Dr. H: If you drink alcohol, stop entirely. Do not take acetaminophen. If you are overweight, lose weight (easier said than done) If you are diabetic,control your blood sugar. Talk to the doctor who ordered the test and repeat it in about 3 months.
