Liver enzymes: SGPT and SGOT are considered markers of liver function. Since many drugs are metabolized by the liver, but may also cause liver cell damage, these are routinely monitored when under treatment with drugs known to pose risk of liver damage. Follow-up with your doctor to see if the drug needs to be changed or dose adjusted.
