Rest and stretching: Most tendinitis comes from overuse of a tendon that does not have a chance to heal. Resting does not mean sitting at home watching television, it means strengthening the surrounding weak muscles that are causing the overuse (eg. Strengthening the quads will resolve hamstring tendinitis). Stretching before use will allow the tendon to function better with less strain and fewer microtears.
