Only a few: Triptans can increase blood pressure, and sometimes drowsiness and lethargy follows useage. Triptans do affect size of blood vessels indirectly. Since too frequent or too high dosing over a short period of time can increase risk for heart attacks and/or strokes, doctors limit maximal doses for 24 hrs and 7 days. However, the nasal spray is very quick and effective, and a serious event is rare.
