A member asked:

How long should you let a fever run?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends: When a fever becomes concerning is based on several factors. It would depend on how high the fever is, how old the person is, and what other problems that person may have. A low grade fever (less then 102) is not concerning in a healthy child/adult for a few days. Higher fevers are more likely to indicate a bacterial infection that may need antibiotics, but exam is necessary to tell.
