A 32-year-old member asked:

how does one get rid of tenesmus?

Depends on cause: Tenesmus mean straining at bm's, often with no results, and can come from many different causes. Mostly things that inflame the anal canal and rectum causing irritation are the problem, and the cause needs to be identified to fix it, so get a good anorectal exam. If you have a diagnosis already, your doctor should have suggested a treatment.

Follow a regimen: Adequate fiber diet, soft stools, kegel exercises. If this does not help, a short course of dilute anal Nitroglycerin ointment (0.2%) 2-3 times daily is often helpful.

Not sure: Your question is not very clear. Craving for what? Food exercise, etc? Usually cravings are caused by repeated use of a substance, i.E caffeine, chocolate, etc; your body gets used to this; the best thing is to wean yourself off. You can go cold turkey or slow wean. Drink water because most things are dehydrating, chart to see triggers: menstrual cycle, moods, weather etc to prepare yourself.
