Salt: For one is known to cause swelling by retaining water. Eating bad food can also cause arteries to clog which in turn causes bad circulation.

Yes: Certain foods can cause fluid retention and this would result in swelling. Check with your dr. To make sure the swelling is not do to a systemic problem.
