Veneer Side effects: One of the best side effects is having a pretty smile. The only negative I have seen is occasional hot and cold sensitivity for a few days after they are done.

Yes: Yes, there can be temperature sensitivity for a period of time. Bear in mind that like all dental procedures, they may not last forever and need replacing. If the lip side of the veneer is thicker than what you tooth was, lip pressure may cause your teeth to move towards the roof of your mouth and you will start hitting on your front teeth first. This can lead to sensitivity also.

Maybe: Veneers irreversibly remove tooth structure. Some people experience sensitivity to temperatures. Others have difficulty getting used to them.

Yes : Veneers could break or cheap off. You may get decay underneath veneers. Also recession of the gums could expose the margins which could be a problem with cosmetics.
