Personal exam needed: Here is a good authoritative website for some more information on veneers: http://www.Mouthhealthy.Org/en/az-topics/v/veneers.Aspx have a consultation with your own dentist who can personally clinically examine you and then discuss if veneers are appropriate for you or if you have other better options. He\she can then answer all you specific questions.

Sure: Porcelain veneers, when done by an experienced cosmetic dentist, can very conservative and remove very little healthy tooth structure. When bonded in place, these thin wafers of porcelain are very strong and when taken care of will last for a long time. They also can change a smile completely and do not get darker over time.

Briefly...: Veneers can improve a smile by whitening, reshaping, and re-aligning the visible part of the tooth. They require diligence in fabrication and delivery and they require proper maintenance in order to last. After consideration of orthodontics, veneers are a wonderful option when needed.

Yes: Iowa city has one of the best dental schools in the country, you might want to check them out. My recommendation is to google porcelain veneers, look at before and after photos and discuss your options with a restorative dentist or prosthodontist on full time faculty.
