Epididymo-orchitis.: Infections of the epididymis (epididymitis) or testicle (orchitis) can cause severe testicular pain. In younger men, this is usually caused by gonorrhea or chlamydia. In older men, it is often due to urinary tract pathogens such as e. Coli and proteus. If you have significant testicular pain, please get evaluated. A scrotal ultrasound can determine if scrotal pain is due to infection or torsion.
