Shouldn't be: Any drug can be fatal in rare situations, but versed can be used quite safely, even if you have sleep apnea. Be sure your surgeon and anesthesiologist know of your apnea condition so you can be properly, and safely managed.

Can be: Can be fatal with or without sleep apnea if not properly monitored. In most cases this drug is administered only by physicians or nurses well trained in recognizing and managing its side effects.
