Shouldn't be: Any drug can be fatal in rare situations, but versed can be used quite safely, even if you have sleep apnea. Be sure your surgeon and anesthesiologist know of your apnea condition so you can be properly, and safely managed.

Potentially: All medications that cause sedation can be problematic for people will sleep apnea. Medications like versed should only be administered to a sleep apnea patient under the direct supervision of a physician and, if the doses are more than minimal, using monitors.
