Benign muscle twitch: Muscle twitches, or "fasciculations, " occur all over the body. They are more easily noticed in the eyelids because those muscles are small. They can result from caffeine, stress, or low magnesium. Though troublesome, they are almost never serious and will go away in a few weeks. More severe twitches can be due to tourette's or a condition known as blepharospasm.
