See plastic surgeon: Who is certified by the american board of plastic surgery. A couple of caveats: the final result from liposuction is often not apparent for 6-12 months. Irregularities that are very obvious initially have a tendency to improve with time, so don't rush into anything. It is easy to remove a little more fat, but it is more problematic to replace fat in overtreated areas.

Seek second opinion: Your best option is to seek a second opinion. I am assuming that the liposuction was performed on your body, in which case you should seek a second opinion with a board-certified plastic surgeon. You also want someone who does alot of liposuction who will be best suited to deal with the potential complications of the procedure. I hope this information is helpful. Stephen weber, M.D.

Find qualifications: There are many physicians performing liposuction and other plastic surgery procedures who aren't actually plastic surgeons and patients - who are being treated a consumers - are paying the price. Find a board certified plastic surgeon and member of the asps and asaps to review your complaints and come up with a treatment plan.

Go to expert first: This is the best reason to seek an experienced surgeon the 1st time you undergo lipo. Once the irregularities have been created it may be very difficult to treat and may require multiple attempts so be prepared to hear this. I would schedule consultations with experienced surgeons who are willing to do the revisionary work. This may require more lipo and fat grafting . Expect subtle corrections.
