All SSRIs: Paxil (paroxetine) is a certain kind of anti-depressant, a so-called "selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor" (ssri). All meds in this class have about the same side-effects (not 100%) & should be prescribed with care, not haphazardly. Sometimes for reasons that are not scientific, this or that med gets a bad rep or a good one undeservedly. Discuss with your md the pros and cons of ssris and Paxil (paroxetine) among them.
