Tricyclics: Most of us quit using tricyclics a few years ago for depression due to their side effects. They were replaced by ssri agents such as Prozac (fluoxetine) etc.. Sometimes we use trazadone, sinequin or Elavil at bedtime to assist the ssri or help you sleep. There is a new interest in tricyclics for chronic pain patients.
