Possible: Surgery is possible and can be done if emergently necessary. Surgery in the radiation- treated area can increase risks of wound healing, bleeding, infections. Surgery in the non-radiation area is much less problematic. Typically radiation is not interrupted as results are inferior in patients who have radiation treatment breaks.
