Yes: Short answer: yes. Small cell lung cancer is staged as either limited stage (fits within a radiation field for treatment) or extensive stage. It tends to respond well to treatment, but recur.

Yes: Yes, depends upon stage at diagnosis and location. Unfortunately small cell cancer has a high risk of recurrence but if limited and treated by a multidisciplinary team then a sustained remission can be possibly achieved. A detail conversation is needed with an oncologist to assess individual risk of the individual patient.
