Yes: Sciatica is a term for nerve pain running down the leg(s), often times from the nerve being pinched or compressed. Although there are many causes of nerve compression, a common cause can be from disc bulges or disc herniations. Treatments can include medications, exercise, injections, or surgery.

Very common: Bulging discs are very common and are frequently seen on MRI scans. These need to be rather large to cause nerve compression. Many are a symptomatic. A spine specialist can help determine if the disc bulges are the cause of the leg pain.

Yes,but not necesrly: Bulging discs are often completely asymptomatic.Still, could have tiny 'annular tears' in the discs & can easily mimic sciatic pain via referral. If bulges are large, they could compress nerves & produce pain.Finding bulges, however, can be meaningless, too.Other things cause or mimic sciatic pain such as piriformis synd, si jt prob, lumbar vertebral dysf, etc.See good osteopathic dr. They can: Result in imbalances that can cause pain in the spine and result in bulging disks. Typically core strengthening exercises are the best to help relieve pressure and forces in the spine. I would try and google some or look them up on youtube to see descriptions. If you can do them yourself, wonderful otherwise ask your doctor to get a referral to a good physical therapist for further assistance.
