Possibly: Osteosarcomas start in bone, but sometimes have a soft tissue component. Involvement of the muscle by adjacent osteosarcoma can happen in 2 possible ways: 1) direct extension/local invasion of muscle by tumor or 2) pressure on the muscle from nearby tumor without invasion but causing swelling or pain.
