About a week : Doctors may vary here but in my patients we keep a tube down for about a week then remove it starting oral intake at that time.

Yes: You can eat after total laryngectomy, just not immediately. Your surgeon and speech and swallow specialist will work with you after surgery to facilitate proper swallowing with minimal complications.
