Why do my feet swell after an angioplasty?

Feet can : Swell after many surguries including hip, knee, ankle etc. When performing an angioplasty you are allowing new blood to flow as you opened a blockage so swelling occurs kind of like traffic occurring on a highway. Of course if there is a concern always consult your surgeon. Clotting can be a complication.

Healing: As the artery is healing, this will temporarily lead to a decrease blood flow to the feet. As the arteries heal and settle back to normal, the swelling will usually resolve. If this persists for many months, call your doctor.
