Range of things: If the vision is hazy, i would suspect an acute glaucoma attack... This is an absolute emergency. If the vision is normal, the pain can be a migraine, or acute sinusitis. At any rate, seek a doctors help if the pain persists more than a few hours and does not respond to over the counter pain meds.
