Fever/Iritability/: Commonest side efeects are 1mild fever 2injection site soreness 3 irritability 4vomiting some will vomit 1to3days 5drowsiness, lasts a day or two 6 rarely allergic or hypersensitivity reactions, can happen few hours after the vaccine is given.I t require immediate medical attention as it can lead to difficulty breathing and shock. It can cause high fever seizures and inconsolable crying for several.

Confusing question: We have not had this vaccine available for use since the mid 1990's. It was prone to fevers, swelling, prolonged soreness and occasional seizures. It was never given after age 6 because of its harsh side effects. The currently available DTaP or TdaP are a designer product of the lab, and essentially free of most problems.
