Depends......: It would depend on how long after the dtap (dtp is usually no longer given) it is. Some swelling and redness are not uncommon for 48-72 hours after the shot. A small percentage of recipients may develop a sterile abscess at the site. If you are unsure, it is always best to be evaluated by your physician.
