Look to west coast: In 2014 we lost about 40 babies to whooping cough, mostly on the west coast among anti-vaccine families. There were in excess of 40,000 cases nationwide.Back in the mid 1990's, we had only 2500 cases/yr nationwide and no deaths. The germs are around and ready to infect or kill.The success of the DTP has made many think it is no longer an issue. So sad.
