Yes: People can be allergic to certain components of the acrylics which are used in removable prosthetics. Like wise , certain components used in metal alloys as the base for a porcelain crown can also cause reactions on the gums.

Yes: Yes, if you mean the gum colored plastic that denture teeth are set in. Sometimes it is because the material is not fully cured. Return to your dentist and have him/her assess whatever problem you are having.
