Yes: Casting for 6-8 weeks and therapy works for most. Slightly higher re- tear rates without surgical repair. But, no risk of surgery.

Sometimes: It depends on how bad the rupture is. If its a partial rupture in can be heal without surgery by immobilizing the foot and ankle for about 6 weeks. If its a complete rupture it may require surgery.
