6-10 weeks 1st round: Achilles tendon take about 6 weeks to undergo their initial healing and allow weight bearing to occur whether it is treated with a cast or surgery. Some surgical techiques allow early weight bearingin a brace but tendon is not healed. The re-rupture rate varies from 5%( with surgery) to 25% ( without surgery). Return to high impact activity (unless you are under contract) is 6-12 months.

Partial or total : If you have total rupture of achilles tendon, and have not had surgery, this will not really heal. The tendon needs to be reattached either with anchor or permanent sutures. If you have had surgery, then 12 weeks to be able to return back to daily activities. To get back to full exercise or sports, you will need a lot of rehab and longer time to heal (6 months).
