Ask them: Hopefully a self described "conservative" physician means that they are careful, conscientious, & prefer proven treatments. This is to your advantage for routine care & surgeries. On the flip side, if i had an inoperable cancer, i suppose i'd prefer a less conservative doc willing to try investigational treatments and/or procedures. Like all else, make sure you are comfortable with your choices.
