If they have to go..: Usually we try to leave them alone but if there are some that are painful then your insurance usually pays to have them removed. Try not to go overboard on getting them cut out.

Possibly: Depending on your insurance plan, symptomatic lipoma excision may well be covered, but your chosen surgeon may need to pre-authorize with your provider. You may also have deductables and co-pays to consider, depending on your own plan and provider's rules. An abps-certified plastic surgeon is a good starting place--do not call your insurance yourself; it just helps them refuse!
