Maybe it makes gas: Haven't seen eno in american stores. It appears to have sodium bicarb (baking soda) and citric acid (the acid in lemons, etc...). Baking soda neutralizes acids such as stomach acid (but there are much better otc meds for that now). When baking soda neutralizes acid, the byproduct is carbon dioxide, so one would get more gassy and need to burp.

Yes - it works by : Allowing you to belch or burp out gas. Eno is a fruit salt antacid used to decrease bloating. Eno releases trapped gas which can then be discharged by belching. Eno neutralizes excess stomach acid.
