Urine Odor: I have diabetes and every time I drink my metformin my urine the next day stinks like gas or burnt rubber. What is that? Its likely that the metabolism of the drug is broken down into a sulfur byproduct. This is normal for that medication. If the smell is bothersome ask to change to another medication.
