They don't: Omega 3 is found in fish oil and omega 6 in primrose oil. They are dietary supplements. Some people feel more calm and relaxed taking them. Depression is a serious disorder that may need profession attention.

Research not clear: Some studies show benefit; others do not. A recent analysis of over 1,000 patients found that it worked slightly better than placebo, and was more beneficial for those with major depression. Improvements detected were extremely slight. Depression is a serious illness that one should not attempt to treat on one's own. CBT, exercise, and FDA approved medication have more solid research backing. Best
