Risk: Lasix (furosemide) is a diuretic (water pill), it may increase urination, you may lose potassium, may cause dehydration, mild renal abnormality etc..., but your doctor will monitor you for these possible secondary effects.

Have faith: Lasix (furosemide) is a very common medication that cardiologist have an intimate knowledge of. Likely reason is you have a mild amount of fluid retention and congestive heart failure for which Lasix (furosemide) would help eliminate the extra fluid. If too much, you can become dehydrated. Taking the med i the evening can lead to waking up to go to bathroom!
