No: Generally not, unless the bleeding is due to localized infection at the cervix (ie chlamydia). Bleeding in the first trimester is typically not an infectious process, and will not be affected by antibiotics.

Your question is vague because if you have an infection like Dr Fogelson mentions, then you need the antibiotic.

Pain or discomfort: The symptoms of a UTI are variable. Symptoms include buring with urination, fevers with chills, and flank pain. One usually also develops urinary symptoms such as urinary frequency, urianry urgency, and urinating more at night. If one notices a change with their urination, an evaluation is recommemded to receive the appropriate antibiotic.
A member asked:

How long do UTI symptoms last. Been on cipro (ciprofloxacin) since weds. Am voiding better but still have need to go all the time.?

One day or one week: Since today is thursday i assume you have only been on medication for one day and it takes more time than that for symptoms to resolve. If you have been on medication for a week then you need to see the dr. Because you may have resistant organism to cipro (ciprofloxacin). That is not uncommon.
