Temporary: ? success Acupunture (AP) for fibromyalgia (FM). AP provides temporary pain relief as do trigger point injections; useful for obtaining pain honeymoon wherein to exercise & tonify muscles, which are commonly deconditioned in FM. Another utility might be relief of smooth muscle spasms attendant w. Irritable Bowel Syndrome. AP cannot alter underlying course of FM disorder, which is multifactorial.
