Anxiety attacks?: People experiencing panic attacks very commonly feel something is wrong with heart or lungs, and go to the er. It's good that the doctors examined & released you, because it means they found nothing wrong with your heart, etc. Would be good to follow up with your own physician, who can keep working with you on this problem. There are medicines that can prevent future episodes.

Chest Pain in the ER: There are many causes of chest pain. Some are dire emergencies while others are from minor conditions. In an er we are mainly concerned with making sure you don't require emergency intervention. It can be frustrating for patients when all of our er tests are normal. However this is always good news! even if a final answer to your symptoms is not found in the er, for many it is place to start.
