Break a fast: Children as well as adults fast, for practical purposes throughout the night. Your body is still " working" and consuming energy. When you wake up in the morning, that energy is in a sense deleted. In order to learn, and jump start your metabolism you need to break the fasting and eat, replenishing the calories and giving the kids the " fuel" they need. The brain needs calories!
