Ankle braces: Ankle braces are designed to help support the ankle. There are several types of ankle braces. One is the aircast which is very supportive but not as flexible when returning to play. The other is a lace up brace which is not as supportive as the aircast but much more flexible when gradually returning to play. It depends on how soon you go back to play before allowing your ankle to heal.
