Increases cholestero: It moistens hair & skin & has antimicrobial effects. After drinking coconut oil some people feel full & hunger is suppressed. Ingesting a couple of tbs of coconut oil per day can cause nausea & vomiting. Coconut oil has the highest saturated fat content of all oils with more than 13 grams of fat per tbs. It can increase cholesterol levels.

Contains Lauric Acid: Lauric acid found in coconut oil, milk and even some coconut water products can rise total and HDL cholesterol. Lauric acid has other properties that have been touted by many as being health "promoting" but no good clinical evidence exists to confirm this . Bottom line is moderation, and get your cholesterol checked if you consume a lot of coconut products.
