Yes!: During the course of a soccer game, a player can run anywhere from 4-6 miles. A good portion of that is done at higher speeds and with high cardiac output (blood pumping quickly). So it really is one of the better cardio workouts.

Most of time: In a soccer match there are different levels of exercise. Most of the time is in the cardio level, but it also has sprint runs in between. In the training for this sport, both the aerobic and anaerobic capabilities should be trained to perform better.
