No: You can eat all the dairy you desire (with some moderation and part of a well balanced diet) unless your baby has a milk protein allergy. This allergy most often manifests as blood in the bowel movements of your baby. If this occurs please see your baby's pediatrician.

No: Although you don't have to drink milk to make it (cattle don't), it is a good source of many of the building blocks of good baby nutrition.There can be some transfer of bovine proteins to baby, and cow milk protein is a common food allergy for infants but seldom causes problems. You can cut all dairy for a week or two if you suspect baby is sensitive and resume it if nothing changes.
