The number of digits: Your surgeon has bears no relation to his/her ability. Take the time to talk with several surgeons; how comfortable you feel with them is infinitely more important that the number of fingers they have.

See the results: A plastic surgeon with 6 fingers. . .Surgical gloves must really be a problem! skill is not related to the number of fingers; it's how you use the ones you have. I know of no 6-fingered concert pianists, so having "extra" fingers is not an advantage! the same goes for surgery. Look for abps certification, experience in the procedure you seek, and have an in-person consultation. Check result photos.
