ADHD: The "official" name is adhd. It has 3 suptypes: inattentive, hyperactive and combined. The symptoms of adhd include in attention, problems focusing, following directions, staying organized and being forgetful and easily distracted. If you also have symptoms of hyperactivity and impulsivity, that makes it combiner type.

Depends on type: Diagnostically, there's only adhd, with 3 subtypes. What people often call add is adhd, mainly inattentive. These folk don't have much if any problem with hyperactivity or impulsivity but do have marked difficulties with poor focus and ready distractibility, often with poor organizational skills. If it's causing problems, well worth an assessment might start with school counselor.

Many: Disorganization, procrastination, impulsivity, poor focus, distractibility, poor academics, difficulty in relationships, financial mismanagement, substance abuse, motor vehicle accidents/citations, poor job performance, poor task completion or task initiation. These are typical symptoms for an adult with adhd (as above, all subtypes share these).

ADHD without H: symptoms of ADD consist of short attention span, difficulty focusing, easy distractibility. It can happen without hyperactivity. You should have an evaluation with a neuropsychologist.
