A member asked:

Can i take an overseas flight if i have a dvt and am taking lovenox (enoxaparin)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Patients with a recent DVT (or pe) who are on anticoagulant treatment are at low risk of further clots. If taking coumadin, (warfarin) INR must be at goal (2-3). I recommend caution for patients traveling within 2 weeks of a new DVT or pe and slightly delaying things if at all possible. Dvt and pe can be serious and time to make sure that the correct diagnosis and treatment plan is in place, is needed.
